Robaxin for Strains, Sprains, Muscle Injury

Robaxin is a Muscle Relaxant. Skeletal muscle relaxants are used to relax certain muscles in your body and relieve the stiffness, pain, and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, or other injury to your muscles. However, Robaxin does not take the place of rest, exercise or physical therapy, or other treatment that your doctor may recommend for your medical problem.

Robaxin also has been used to relieve some of the muscle problems caused by tetanus. Skeletal muscle relaxants act in the central nervous system (CNS) to produce their muscle relaxant effects. Robaxin is prescribed, along with rest, physical therapy, and other measures, for the relief of pain due to severe muscular injuries, sprains, and strains.

Robaxin is not a substitute for the rest or physical therapy needed for proper healing.

Although Robaxin may temporarily make an injury feel better, do not let that tempt you into pushing your recovery. Lifting or exercising too soon may further damage the muscle.
